A new service ESI offers to clients, owners, builders, and other engineering firms is plan review.   Plan review encompasses many aspects such as constructability and design, and looks at each plan from the standpoint of operations, maintenance, future use or new regulations.   As DEP regulations tend to grow, one recent addition for some wastewater facilities in Florida the treatment of Ammonia and measurement of TKN Nitrogen along with Total Nitrogen.   Limits are set to ensure the treatment of ammonia (a.k.a. human wastes) and severely limit Nitrogen levels requiring new treatment processes such as anoxic basins (mixing raw influent with carbon sources and RAS without the use of air).    While these requirements are environmentally understandable, meeting these requirements can be costly and labor extensive over standard methods.    ESI has engineers and operators (as well as maintenance crews) on staff.   Finding, creating and using different methods to meet DEP required standards have been our focus for many years.   Please call for more information or to set up a meeting.
