Contract Operations
Sanitary Survey Tips
Mounting regulatory pressure, scarcity of competent personnel, and significant budgetary problems are leading more and more communities to consider private-sector contract operations and maintenance (O&M) of water and wastewater facilities.
Over the past 25 years, the founders of ESI have operated and managed more than 250 municipal and commercial treatment plants. We currently provide communities, across the state of Florida and throughout the U.S., with a variety of water and wastewater services for their systems. These services include, engineering and planning for new projects or upgrades to existing infrastructure, consulting, contract operations and maintenance as well as sales/construction of new infrastructure and equipment products to water and wastewater utilities and other consumers. Facility management, or contract operations, varies as needed and can include all aspects of operations, maintenance, repairs, new construction, billing and collections, compliance, testing, and more. Once contracted, all systems are brought into compliance, new SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are implemented and new or updated O&M (Operation and Maintenance Manuals) are created as needed. All equipment is photographed and logged, categorized and scheduled for routine maintenance. In recent years, these same efforts have become known as Asset Management which is now a featured service from ESI and now also includes several other aspects to fully enhance full management.
ESI has come up with other innovations, free of charge to clients using Operations Services. Two of the major reports that have helped clients are the Condition Reports and the Facility Schedules. To learn more of these valuable tools, click on the links provided.
We have trained new operators and come up with innovative steps and procedures that help keep the smallest of package treatment plants to the largest municipal treatment plants working smoothly and in compliance with DEP regulations.
Clients who turn to us for contract operations of wastewater facilities benefit from the added value we bring when compared with other firms because of our solid engineering skills – from facilities planning and troubleshooting through design, construction, startup and operator training.
When facilities are challenged by inefficient operations or compliance issues, ESI engineers, operators and service personnel team up to evaluate operations from a multitude of perspectives. Evaluations can include a multitude of sources from performance and infrastructure conditions, to staff skill levels and even management. Then we identify how to maintain compliance and get the most out of a client’s facility by optimizing existing assets before considering costly capital investments. This expertise is available to you as consulting services to train your personnel and/or available in contract operations and maintenance. Benefits to contracting your plant’s operations include:
