Inspections and evaluations have several different levels, several are listed, depending on the facilities needs:

2.     Sampling

3.     Maintenance

4.     Personnel

5.     Paperwork

6.     Permitting

7.     General Compliance

8.     Design

 

For example, a facility had a history of non-compliance and before fines ensued, hired ESI to find the reason or the non-compliance and “Fix it”. Initially, the design was thought to be the culprit, but the final analysis found the main problems to personnel, training and communication.  One minor repair was needed, but the key changes occurred after a few meetings with management, supervisors, operators and maintenance staff.  The treatment facility was not only able to come into compliance, but maintain a good effluent throughout the year.  The fine that was to be imposed was avoided and only a fraction was needed to compensate ESI for all of our involvement.
